A 78-seater Bombardier Q400 aircraft, propelled by a blend of 75% air turbine fuel and 25% biojet fuel, took off from Dehradun and landed in Delhi. “It has the potential to reduce our dependence on ATF by up to 50% on every flight and bring down fares,” SpiceJet CMD Ajay Singh said. Rival IndiGo also toyed with the idea about five years ago, but dumped it later in favour of cheaper imported jet fuel. Minister of State for Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Mansukh L. Mandaviya, while giving a written reply to a question on steps taken by the Government to ensure the quality of medicines made under generic names and its availability at affordable prices to common people, in Lok Sabha today stated that drugs manufactured in the country, irrespective of whether branded or generic, are required to comply with the same standards as prescribed in the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules made thereunder for their quality. Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have taken various regulatory measures to ensure the quality of generic medicines in the country. Details are as under:

The IMD today predicted increased rainfall activity, including extremely heavy rains in isolated places, between tomorrow and June 12 along the north coastal belt of Maharashtra which includes Mumbai. A statement from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued today informed that conditions were favourable for the further advancement of the Southwest monsoon into more parts of the central Arabian Sea and Maharashtra, including Mumbai, during the next 24 hours. "Increased rainfall activity over coastal Karnataka, Goa and south Maharashtra is likely to continue till June 10. The state industries department will soon develop a manufacturing unit of electric vehicles spread over an area of 79 acres in Sasaram and owned by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA). It will also come up with the Bihar Electric Vehicle Policy which will deal with issues related to the manufacture of electronic vehicles, their maintenance, charging stations and batteries.
