Centre has approved 2 projects for Haryana under RRTS: Manohar Lal Khattar

The Centre has approved two projects for Haryana under the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), including one to connect Delhi with Panipat via Sonipat, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today. The other project will connect Delhi with Alwar in Rajasthan via Gurgaon and Manesar in Haryana, he told reporters at the Modern Industrial Estate Metro station after the inauguration of the Delhi Metro's Mundka-Bahadurgarh line by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Raksha Mantri Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, met here today and accorded approval for the procurement of equipment for the Defence Forces valued at over Rs 5500 crore. Pursuing the goal of indigenisation and self-reliance in the field of Defence Procurements, the DAC approved procurement of 12 High Power Radars for the Indian Air Force under ‘Buy (Indian) IDDM’ category. The radars will provide long range medium and high altitude radar cover with the capability to detect and track high speed targets following parabolic trajectories. The state industries department will soon develop a manufacturing unit of electric vehicles spread over an area of 79 acres in Sasaram and owned by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA). It will also come up with the Bihar Electric Vehicle Policy which will deal with issues related to the manufacture of electronic vehicles, their maintenance, charging stations and batteries. Gadkari launches several highway projects to decongest NCR

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday inaugurated two National Highway projects in Gurugram aimed at decongesting the National Capital Region and also laid the foundation stone for two new projects. The Minister inaugurated a four-lane flyover at Maharana Pratap Chowk on Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road and an eight-lane flyover at Hero Honda Chowk on NH-8, a statement from the Road Transport Ministry said. The project cost of the two flyovers is estimated to be Rs 34 crore and Rs 95 crore respectively, the statement said. Gadkari also inaugurated a two-lane underpass from Chaudhary Baktawar Singh Road towards Delhi -- near Rajiv Chowk -- costing Rs 30 crore.
