IndiGo is offering a massive discount on its non-stop international flight tickets. The airline, in a statement, said that fares to popular international destinations like Dubai, Phuket, Abu Dhabi,  Kuala Lumpur, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat, Kochi, Singapore, Colombo etc will start from as low as Rs 3,299, all-inclusive. This international travel sale is accessible to the customers from 12:01 am on December 12, 2018, to 11:59 PM on December 16, 2018. The discounted ticket prices will be available on the bookings for flights between December 27, 2018, and April 15, 2019. According to the statement released by the airlines, the commuters need to book the tickets minimum 15 days prior to the date of departure and the journey should not be post April 15, 2019. Recently, the Uttarakhand state government has made a declaration that three new eco-tourism zones will be made on the periphery of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. The announcement has come a month after the Supreme Court of India lifted the ban on overnight stays in the forest rest houses near the tiger reserve. In the month of August, the division bench of the Uttarakhand High Court has banned tourists from staying overnight in national parks, reserve forests, and protected forests so as to protect the wildlife from incidences of poaching and human trespassing. Also, the court put a cap on the number of vehicles visiting the wildlife reserve to 100 per day. In October, the Supreme Court stayed the High Court’s decision. IndiGo on Tuesday launched its first international flight from Vijayawada jointly with the Andhra Pradesh government, the airline said in a press release. IndiGo said it would operate two weekly non-stop services between Vijayawada and Singapore. The carrier further said customers would be able to avail the new flight services by booking tickets via its portal - goindigo.in. The addition of Vijayawada to the airline's international network comes amid high competition in the country's aviation sector, backed by robust growth in passenger traffic over past few months. A 78-seater Bombardier Q400 aircraft, propelled by a blend of 75% air turbine fuel and 25% biojet fuel, took off from Dehradun and landed in Delhi. “It has the potential to reduce our dependence on ATF by up to 50% on every flight and bring down fares,” SpiceJet CMD Ajay Singh said. Rival IndiGo also toyed with the idea about five years ago, but dumped it later in favour of cheaper imported jet fuel. Union minister Nitin Gadkari said the government was looking to float a "special policy" for biofuel use in the aviation sector.

Budget passenger carrier IndiGo is operating three daily additional relief flights to and from Kochi naval base in view of the current flood situation in Kerala, said the carrier in a press release issued on Monday. IndiGo's additional relief flights will be operated till August 26, 2018. As part of relief measures, a special customer support team has also been designated who are working 24*7 to assist affected passengers and families, said IndiGo. According to the carrier, the airline is also providing cancellation and rescheduling waiver to passengers booked to travel from August 16, 2018 to August 31, 2018.
